ZF Transmissions remain Europe’s top rated gearbox manufacturer, according to a reader poll by ETM Publishing, taking out the award for the fourth consecutive year.
For the magazine readers, it was the high level of reliability and cost-effectiveness of ZF transmissions which constituted the decisive factor: since the introduction of the “Best Brand” competition in 2005, ZF won the award every year in this particular product group.
For the overall evaluation: ZF equipped six out of the ten award-winning vehicles from the individual catergories with its driveline technology.
Moreover, in the city bus and high-decker coaches individual categories, ZF is on-board of the top three vehicles.
ZF is well equipped for the future, offering hybrid technology from the component level to the complete full-scale hybrid system for commercial vehicles, which means for vehicles operating in inner city delivery traffic considerable fuel savings can be realized.
In the near future, ZF customers will have a choice between the well-tried and proven ZF-AS Tronic lite as well as eTronic transmissions supplemented by the automatic 6-speed ZF-EcoLife transmission and their respective hybrid versions.
Consequently, the transmissions are “hybrid ready” and can be easily and smoothly integrated into already existing systems.
