DHL Global Forwarding
has confirmed work
started on
its new $45.8 million Sydney warehouse and office facility this week.

According to DHL, the 19,619sq m facility in Matraville will combine DHL Global Forwarding’s two existing Sydney sites.

“The new premises will provide for business growth and improved process capabilities which will enhance our productivity in the processing of our air and ocean freight cargo,” South Pacific DHL Global Forwarding CEO Tony Boll says.

“Combining our Sydney operational sites into one purpose-built facility ensures we are able to meet the future demands of our customers.”

When completed in March 2013, the building, which comprises almost 5,000sq m of office space and 15,000sq m of warehouse space, will be one of the largest in south Sydney.

The facility will also have allocation for 3,000sq m of temperature controlled space.

Situated close to Port Botany and Sydney International Airport, DHL hopes the new facility will improve customer service levels and support growth experienced in the past 12 months, particularly in the pharmaceutical, technology and mining industries.

Goodman owns and is redeveloping the site on behalf of DHL Global Forwarding.

The facility will be operational by March next year.
