Works are continuing on the new Oversize Overmass (OSOM) and Heavy Vehicle Rest Area along the northbound section of the Hume Motorway in Menangle.
The new rest area, opposite the Partridge VC Rest Area, will replace the informal ‘Dust Bowl’ rest area and include enhanced safety features.
Work will be carried out in up to 25-night shifts from November 12 to Sunday December 21, weather permitting. Work hours are 8pm to 4am, Sunday to Thursday. There will be no work on Friday or Saturday nights.
A three-kilometre contraflow will be in place to enable the closure of one lane each night with traffic control managing traffic in both directions.
The Moolgun Creek OSOM Stopping Area will remain operational during this time for OSOM drivers.
