Under contract from the Australian Logistics Council (ALC), the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport of Australia (CILTA) will present the third session of the highly successful mentoring program, Women Moving Forward, on June 23, 2011.

The previous two sessions have involved more than 130 women from over 100 companies and government agencies across Australia.

This program has become the largest, most effective mentoring program for women in the Transport & Logistics (T&L) industry.

It is being offered with the financial support of the Australian Federal Government under the Nation Building Program.

The first 70 participants to register will receive the Government subsidy of $200, reducing the price for non-CILTA members to $595 incl gst and to $535.50 for individual participants who are CILTA members.

Women Moving Forward incorporates a high quality, self-paced and cost effective mentoring program, targeting the retention and development of women.

It identifies what women want in their personal and professional lives and helps get them there.

The Women’s Mentoring Program is open for all women in T&L, undertaking any role, in any region, in any T&L company.

The program has had great support from government agencies including the
Queensland Department of Transport & Main Roads, Queensland’s Office for Women and NSW Roads & Traffic Authority.

Companies such as ANL Container Line and DP World have also embraced the program by enrolling a number of their staff to participate.

Guest speakers involved in the previous sessions have come from a wide range of backgrounds exposing the participants to a variety of experiences.

Speakers have included Air Vice-Marshall Margaret Staib (Department of Defence), Michael Blucher (the third half sports motivation), Natasha Stott-Despoja (Former Senator and Leader of the Democrats), Tania Whyte (Linfox), Hal Morris (CILTA), Dr Hermione Parsons (Victoria University), Ivan Backman (former Chairman of the ALC), Diane Ricardo (Billabong) and Maureen Frank (emberin).

Registrations for the June 23rd program will close COB, 3 June 2011.
