Australian vehicle distributor WMC kicked off the Melbourne International Truck, Trailer and Equipment Show with a bang today.
The firm officially launched the long-awaited JAC J Range of Chinese-made light-duty trucks, but backed that up with the unveiling of Shanghai Automotive Industry Company’s Maxus range of commercial vans and trucks.
National Sales Manager Enzo Magistro promised JACs will be available by the first week of May. WMC expects Maxus vans, which are based on the Leyland LDV platform, to arrive before year’s end.
The ‘JAC Pack’ on the J45 and J75 models features Australian designed and built aluminium trays, bullbars and towbars and canvas seat covers.
WMC Managing Director Jason Pecotic says JAC will be sold through 25 dealers nationwide including AHG, CMV, Adtrans, Macquarie and Vanderfields and other independent dealers.
CEVA Logistics will look after the parts inventory.
The ready-to-go trucks will arrive in dealerships as the finished article.
