Australian entity Winning Group, a fourth-generation family retail business, has been joined by over 100 guests to celebrate the opening of its new Winning Services distribution centre in Kemps Creek, NSW.
The new facility is located at Mirvac’s Aspect Precinct and features a 66,610 sqm warehouse, 76 docks and a dedicated recycling area to service the group’s retail entities and 3PL partners.
It is also targeting a 6 Star Green Star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia and has created an additional 40 jobs, with 23 roles currently being advertised across warehousing, delivery and installation.
Winning Group CEO John Winning says the new distribution centre, which is the largest in the company’s history, will help the Winning Services logistics arm continue to improve its customer experience.
“Our investment in this new world-class distribution centre supports solid growth in both Appliances Online and Winnings, as well as our third-party logistics business, Winning Services, which enjoys a world-leading NPS score of over 80,” Winning says.
“Our new distribution centre will continue to provide customers with our exceptional last-mile customer experience, which is unmatched for big and bulky goods in Australia. Through the Winning Services network we are able to provide free next day delivery to 95% of the Australian population, same day delivery in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane of big and bulky goods and free removal and recycling of old products through reverse logistics.”
Since Winning Services’ move to the Kemps Creek facility, its free take-back and recycling program has achieved and average diversion from landfill of 84 per cent in the last quarter, including an average of 234 tonnes of scrap metal recycling per month.
Winning Group also achieved solid 20 per cent retail sales growth during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales period and has achieved a 10 per cent growth in Winning Services’ 3PL business since the start of FY25.
“We are incredibly proud of our new Kemps Creek DC, which allows our business and team to continue to provide unique and unmatched last-mile logistics of big and bulky goods,” Winning Services General Manager Harry Boileau says.
“Our new DC has created new job opportunities for warehouse workers, drivers, offsiders, plumbers and electricians, which we are looking to fill prior to Christmas.
“The dedicated recycling area in Kemps Creek, allows us to continue to support our industry-leading recycling program of old appliances, mattresses and product packaging, which helps keep communities clean and prevents e-waste going into landfill.
“Our sustainability initiatives, along with our industry-leading NPS score of over 80, underpin Winning Services’ Legendary Care and our mission to create the best experiences in the world, for the world – for our people, customers, communities, and the planet.”
