The recall says a cable stud may contact the bulkhead, potentially causing a vehicle fire
A recall has been issued and listed on the Federal government’s department of infrastructure regarding certain Western Star trucks.
The recall says 108 Western Star models between 2016-2018 have been recalled, inclusive of all variants within the model.
According to the recall, the bulkhead pass through power cable stud with an attached gasket seal may contact the bulkhead.
If this does occur, it may result in electrical arcing, increasing the risk of a vehicle fire and serious injury to vehicle occupants and bystanders.
If you do own one of these Western Star models, the recall recommends contacting your preferred Western Star dealer to arrange to have the necessary work carried out, including having parts ordered in prior to your arrival, free of charge.
