Wayfinder Brisbane Freight Heartland Tour announced

The Australian Logistics Council’s Wayfinder program has announced the launch of a Brisbane Freight Heartland tour in early March

The Australian Logistics Council has announced the launch of its Brisbane Wayfinder Freight Heartland tour, which will be held on March 4, 2025.

Wayfinder is an industry-led program that aims to tackle the workforce challenges in the supply chain and logistics sector through exposing people to the wide variety of roles in the industry and supporting them through finding employment at all levels.

The Freight Heartland tours give participants a firsthand view of some of Australia’s biggest transport and logistics companies to expose the individuals to some of the inner workings of the sector.

It is a fully integrated program with the Australian Logistics Council.

Wayfinder has already conducted successful Freight Heartland tours in Melbourne and Sydney during 2024, with the likes of Amazon, Qube, NSW Ports and DP World all involved.

Brisbane’s tour will involve visits to four sites, with one yet to be announced.

It will kick off with a behind the scenes look at Primary Connect’s Woolworths logistics hub in Heathwood and will travel onto Coles Group’s Redbank distribution centre before finishing the day at Port of Brisbane.

“At Wayfinder, we believe career journeys are meant to be explored,” Wayfinder says. “Whether you are making a bold career change or just starting out.

“That’s why our events are designed to be both fun and incredibly practical – connecting you with the right people, insights and opportunities to move forward into the vast world of logistics and supply chain with confidence.”

In addition to its Freight Heartland tours, Wayfinder also maintains a ‘career map’ which has been funded by 15 major sponsors of the program. It highlights the variety of roles and jobs across 18 sectors of transport and logistics across all levels of experience and seniority.
