South Australia’s town of Wallaroo is undergoing $5.2 million upgrade to improve road safety and access.
Jointly funded by the State Government and the Copper Coast Council, the project will support 20 full-time jobs during the construction period.
Pavement rehabilitation and resurfacing works will soon be underway along Irwine Street, Owen Terrace, Victoria Street, Sharples Road, Bowman Road, and Copper Coast Highway.
Once complete, the upgrades will improve access and road reliability for all road users entering and exiting Wallaroo, while also enhancing transport efficiency for the many freight operators who use these routes.
While works are underway, speed and lane restrictions will be in place and some short-term detours will be required at times.
All works are expected to be completed in mid-2026.
This investment follows on from completed pavement works on Magazine Road, Sharples Road and Hughes Street in Wallaroo delivered by the Department late last year.
