WABCO establishes new subsidiary to specialise in remanufacturing products for commercial vehicles
July 23, 2010
WABCO has established a new subsidiary to specialise in remanufacturing electronic and mechatronic components and traditional mechanical products for commercial vehicles.
WABCO Reman Solutions will initially serve original equipment manufacturers and suppliers of commercial, passenger and agricultural vehicles in Europe and North America before eventually expanding into Asia.
The decision to launch the company comes as customers seek cost-effective remanufactured components while also achieving benefits for the environment.
WABCO Reman Solutions will remanufacture WABCO components as well as working with original equipment producers to remanufacture their components, further extending the company’s market reach.
“WABCO Reman Solutions represents an opportunity for significant growth as we will now participate in a $20 billion market which is expected to increase substantially in the coming years,” WABCO Chairman and CEO Jacques Esculier says.
“Legislation around the world continues to drive higher standards for cleaner, greener vehicles, and at the same time, new commercial vehicles continue to increase their electronic and mechatronic applications as technologies for safety and control systems further advance.”
Operating as part of WABCO’s aftermarket organisation, WABCO Reman Solutions has established remanufacturing facilities in Poland, and the US. Both factory sites are expected to be operational in September 2010.
