The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) has announced the provisional program for its upcoming Alternative Fuel Summit, to be held on Tuesday November 18, 2025 at Hyatt Place, Essendon Fields.
With the theme “Is the transport industry ready to decarbonise?”, the Summit will feature a day of expert presentations, panel discussions, and case studies designed to help transport operators and stakeholders navigate the transition to low and zero-emission fuels.
VTA CEO Peter Anderson says the Summit is a vital opportunity for the industry to come together and prepare for the future.
“The transport industry is at a crossroads. The shift to alternative fuels is no longer optional — it’s inevitable but will take time and require support,” he says.
“This Summit is about helping our members and the broader industry understand what’s coming, what’s possible, and how to make the transition in a way that’s commercially viable and operationally sound.
“We’ve assembled a truly outstanding lineup of speakers — leaders in sustainability, infrastructure, technology, and operations — who will share their knowledge and experience to help attendees make informed decisions. Their insights will be invaluable as we move toward a lower-emitting future.”
Program Highlights Include:
- Opening Remarks from Peter Anderson and senior representatives from Viva Energy, Freight Victoria, and CMV Group.
- Knowledge Sessions led by Swinburne University’s Professor Hadi Ghaderi and experts from Daimler Truck, Gallagher, Impact HQ, and NetNada.
- Case Studies from Cookers Oil, DHL, Fleet Plant Hire, Viva Energy, and Change Fuel Technologies, showcasing real-world decarbonisation strategies.
- Legal, Insurance, and Infrastructure Insights from Hall & Wilcox, NTI, Mondo, Windrose Technologies, NewVolt Infrastructure, and Viva Energy.
- Closing Remarks from the VTA and CMV Truck & Bus.
“This is not just a conference — it’s a call to action for change and transition,” Anderson says.
“The decisions we make today will shape the future of our industry and the Alternative Fuel Summit is where those decisions begin.
“Whether you’re a fleet manager, operator, policymaker or supplier, this event will give you the tools and connections to lead your organisation through the energy transition.”
