VTA opens registration for 2023 State Conference

The VTA has announced that registrations are now open for the industry to attend this year’s state conference

The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) has announced the opening of registration for State Conference 2023, the Association’s most important professional development and networking event and a fixture on its annual networking calendar.

The event will be held at Silverwater Resort, Phillip Island from Sunday 19 to Tuesday March 21.

“The theme of our Conference this year is People First – Managing Transport’s Greatest Asset,” says VTA CEO Peter Anderson.

“It has been selected in considered recognition of the many challenges our industry faces from a human resources, labour, training and skills perspective, with most operators having experienced difficulties associated with worker shortages in our industry.

“The theme also acknowledges the tremendous value that transport workers at every level provide to their operator and supplier employers, underscoring the importance of attracting and retaining transport workers for the long-term.”

Anderson says the VTA is assembling a well-credentialed line-up of speaker and presenters from government, regulators, operators and suppliers to address Conference delegates on human resources, labour shortages and other issues, including transport infrastructure, safety, technology, equipment and industrial relations.

“Formal Conference sessions will be interspersed with a range of networking and hospitality sessions, providing delegates with ample opportunity to socialise and gain new contacts from across the industry,” Anderson says.

“A trade exhibition during the Conference will feature new products and innovations from a range of industry suppliers and we anticipate having the latest prime movers and associated equipment from domestic and international original equipment manufacturers.”

The VTA will share a provisional program and speaker updates over the coming weeks, with an assurance the calibre of presenters will be exceptional, in keeping with the Association’s reputation for providing a relevant, timely and content-rich State Conference.

“State Conference 2023 is proudly sponsored by industry super fund TWUSUPER, who are very generous and long-standing supporters of this and other VTA events,” Anderson says.

A range of packages and price-points are available to suit the busy schedules of members, associate members, and other delegates and these can be viewed here.
