The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) has announced a number of Australia’s most influential leaders in freight, transport and infrastructure will speak at the upcoming state conference.
Leading the way is Port of Melbourne CEO Saul Cannon, who will present alongside Australian Rail Track Corporation CEO Wayne Johnson, Intermodal Terminal Company founder and CEO Mishkel Maharaj and Austroads CEO Geoff Allan.
These leaders joined National Heavy Vehicle Regulator CEO Nicole Rosie, who was announced as a feature speaker last week.
VTA CEO Peter Anderson says the impressive line-up underscores the importance of the issues to be explored across the three‑day program.
“This year’s speakers represent the breadth and depth of Australia’s freight system — ports, rail, road, regulation and intermodal infrastructure,” Anderson says.
“Their insights will help operators understand the forces shaping our industry and the practical steps needed to stay safe, productive and competitive.”
Anderson says the focus of the 2026 conference is on practical, forward‑looking discussion.
“Freight never stops, and neither can our efforts to strengthen the systems, policies and people that keep goods moving,” he says.
“We want delegates to leave with clear, actionable insights that help them navigate cost pressures, compliance change, workforce challenges and shifting customer expectations.”
The conference will unpack major industry priorities including infrastructure capacity, intermodal integration, Heavy Vehicle National Law reform, decarbonisation, workforce capability, rising operational costs and the growing complexity of customer and community expectations.
