Volvo inks deal with Linfox on prime movers

Volvo Trucks will supply Linfox with 100 prime movers, the truckmaker has revealed.

The order consists of FM 11, FM 13 and FH models to be built at Volvo’s production facility in Brisbane.

Linfox has been busy with truck manufacturers recently. In March, it bought 17 Kenworth T408SAR trucks for its fuel tanker fleet. That followed an order for 250 Tata Prima prime movers for its five-year-old Indian subsidiary.
Volvo was bullish about the latest deal.

“This decision represents a major shift in suppliers for the company,” Volvo Trucks General Manager Gary Bone says.

“We’re obviously very proud to be Linfox’s supplier of choice for this contract.”

Along with safety, the Swedish-headquartered vehicle manufacturer says Linfox made its decision with environmental compliance in mind.

“All the trucks we’re supplying meet the Euro 5 emissions standards of course, and are at the extreme end of fuel-efficiency,” Bone says.
