Volvo Group announces new president of Mack Trucks

A Volvo Group stalwart will join the executive board and become the new Mack Trucks president

Volvo Group has made a new appointment to its executive board who will also serve as the new president of Mack Trucks.

Stephen Roy has been appointed to the executive board of the global Volvo Group while also now serving as Mack Trucks president, succeeding Martin Weissburg, who will retire after a long career within the Volvo Group.

Roy began with Volvo Group in 1996, currently holding the position of head of region North America in Volvo’s construction equipment division.

He has also held many senior positions within the company, including within Mack Trucks and Volvo’s North American truck organisation.

He’ll now assume the role of president of Mack Trucks while also serving on Volvo’s executive board.

He replaces Weissburg, who served as a member of the executive board of Volvo for more than a decade and led in the Volvo financial services, Volvo construction equipment and Mack Trucks areas.

Weissburg will now join the board of Nova Bus, with Roy taking on the new roles as of June 1 this year.
