VMR Truck Parts launches online store

Used Volvo, Mack and UD parts sold online in new VMR venture

Volvo Group has started selling used parts for Mack, UD and Volvo trucks through a new online store connected to VMR Truck Parts, its used parts workshop.

The company said that with more older-model trucks taking to Australian roads, the time was right to launch an online sales division, rather than to always rely on its dealer network.

Volvo Group Australia vice president of aftersales and service Tony O’Connell said the company was demonstrating that it could service a truck’s entire life cycle.

“Buyers looking at VMR are typically not shopping for brand new parts – they’re not coming through our Dealer network,” O’Connell says.

“They may be shopping at wreckers, on Gumtree or eBay and are looking for an alternative option.

“This is a responsible way of providing that option while at the same time ensuring quality and safety.”

Based in Wacol, Queensland, VMR currently carries over 34,000 parts, the company says, selling everything from door handles to remanufactured transmissions.

Any part sold has been cleaned, inspected, checked and graded to Volvo standards, with used parts graded into A Class and B Class, and coming with warranties of six months and three months respectively.

With the online store now up and running, the focus for the VMR team is getting more used and reconditioned parts added to the site, the company said in an announcement.
