Victorian Freight Plan to receive long-awaited update

The Victorian government is set to update 2018's Victorian Freight Plan, and is calling for submissions and feedback

The Victorian Department of Transport and Planning is considering submissions and feedback ahead of potential changes to the Victorian Freight Plan.

Since it was introduced in 2018 the Victorian Freight Plan – titled ‘Delivering the Goods’ – has seen domestic and international changes to the industry, from the Covid-19 pandemic to a consistently increasing demand for volume and speed in the state’s freight network.

People can complete a survey and/or upload a submission to be reviewed ahead of proposed changes to the plan, which will likely include further decarbonisation policy, improvements to safety and growth and the addition of new technologies within the industry.

Advice on the updated Freight Plan will be proceeded to government consideration in late 2024.
