Satellite vehicles aimed at catching those taking back roads in a bid to avoid detection will also be set up

Phase one of Victoria Police’s Summer Stay campaign starts today targeting drink and drug driving.
Operation Remove All Impaired Drivers (RAID) will go until December 8, targeting major roads across the state.
Police will be conducting drink and drug tests at all hours of the week, starting with Melbourne’s CBD tonight.
Around 200 police will set up booze and breath-testing sites on major roads leading out of the city centre.
Satellite vehicles aimed at catching those taking back roads in a bid to avoid detection will also be set up.
Road Policing Command Superintendent Neville Taylor says drivers should expect to be tested.
“Police will be out in force across the state, focused on those drivers who have a complete disregard for not only their own lives but also the lives of others,” Taylor says.
“We know that drivers who drink or take drugs significantly increase their chances of being involved in a crash.
“These are the people we want to remove from our roads.
“We will be placing our booze and drug buses where we know they are needed. We will have our marked and unmarked police cars working the side streets and back roads.”
