VicRoads to consider request for truck restrictions in Williamstown

Hobsons Bay Council wants trucks stopped from travelling on Station Road in Williamstown North

A council in Melbourne’s west wants trucks banned from a busy street.

Hobsons Bay Council is calling on VicRoads to ban trucks from travelling on Station Road in Williamstown North. Almost 400 trucks use the road each day.

If approved, the restriction will not apply to local delivery and waste disposal trucks that require access for operational purposes, VicRoads Regional Director Patricia Liew says.

“VicRoads has received a request from Hobsons Bay Council for truck restrictions on Station Road, Williamstown,” Liew says.

“The request for truck restrictions needs to consider a number of factors, including extensive consultation with key stakeholders.”
