logistics provider bioCSL, a division of pharmaceutical company CSL,
will provide storage and distribution services for the NSW and WA government funded National Immunisation Program.
With a combined value of $6.8 million, the vaccine manufacturer has been awarded a two and three year contract with each of New South Wales Health and the Western Australian Department of Health respecitvely.
In WA bioCSL’s contract logistics business will manage the storage and distribution of over one million vaccines per year distributing to 528 metropolitan and 297 regional immunisation service providers.
bioCSL’s NSW Health contract includes approximately 50,000 deliveries of vaccines each year to over 5,000 private and public immunisation service providers.
Along with the vaccines covered under the National Immunisation Program, the bioCSL
service will also encompass additional vaccines required for outbreaks and public health response measures.
bioCSL Vice President of Operations Stephen Marlow says the company is committed to providing logistics services for this important component of health service delivery.
