UD Trucks face urgent recall

A recall notice has been for 1,010 units of all variants of the New Quon UD trucks in the year range 2017 to 2026.

On certain UD Trucks, the rear axle lock washer may dislodge and chafe against the hub cover.

If this occurs, it could generate metal powder, causing bearing seizure, abnormal noise and in the worst-case scenario, the tyres may overheat leading to a vehicle fire, increasing the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users, bystanders, or even cause property damage.

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Volvo Group Australia, which is the parent company for the UD brand in Australia, requesting owners to schedule an appointment to have the vehicle inspected and immediately rectified free of charge.
