New body set to develop a 15-year forward plan for infrastructure development.
Former chair of the Victorian Urban Development Authority Gabrielle Trainor and former executive chairman of Blue Energy John Ellice-Flint have been appointed to the board of Infrastructure Australia (IA).
Infrastructure minister Warren Truss says both directors have been appointed to a three year term and will use their experience in public and private sector leadership roles to identify and develop nationally significant projects.
“Both new board members already serve on several boards and bring considerable knowledge and leadership experience to their new positions,” he says.
The two new members are the final additions to the IA board, which came into effect on September 1.
“The IA board [has] a mandate to deliver high quality advice to enable governments to plan for the infrastructure of the future,” Truss says.
“Over the next six months, IA will be completing a full audit of Australia’s infrastructure asset base and identifying a 15-year forward plan for infrastructure that can increase national productivity and support economic growth.”
