The MAN dealer network is expanding, with Trucksmart joining Penske Australia’s portfolio to provide sales, service and parts support across the Hunter Valley and Newcastle region.
Founded more than 30 years ago by Managing Director David Body, Trucksmart has built a reputation for quality, reliability, and strong customer service in the transportation industry. The family-owned business employs over 60 staff, including 17 skilled technicians, and will represent MAN Truck & Bus along with Penske’s other global brands.
Penske Australia’s head of dealer capability, George Konstantinou, says Trucksmart’s experience and reputation make it a strong addition to the MAN dealer network.
“We are excited to welcome Trucksmart to our Australian dealer network,” Konstantinou says.
He says the appointment strengthens regional support for customers.
“With extensive experience in heavy-duty European truck sales and support and an expansive aftermarket parts business, David and his team are well-positioned to support our customers.”
Managing director David Body says joining the MAN dealer network is a milestone for Trucksmart.
“With decades of experience in the trucking industry, as well as a long-standing involvement in motorsport that resonates at Penske’s core, joining the Penske network is both a business milestone and a personal highlight for me,” Body says.
He says the family business is proud to expand its offering to heavy vehicle operators.
“My son, Michael Body, leads our parts division, building on years of expertise and customer support, while Jack Walker, who began his career as an apprentice specialising in Penske products, now oversees our modern, 10-bay Beresfield workshop and 24/7 mobile breakdown service, ensuring our customers are supported both day and night.”
Body says Trucksmart’s focus on comprehensive customer support aligns perfectly with Penske’s brand ethos.

Trucksmart will officially begin operations as a MAN dealer on October 16, following the conclusion of North Star Motors’ long-standing agreement.
Konstantinou thanked the outgoing team for their years of service.
