Australian independent heavy vehicle fleet maintenance company TRUCK TECH has opened a new state-of-the-art truck, trailer and bus maintenance facility in Newcastle.
The Beresfield branch is the first in the region for the company, which supports some of the largest transport companies in the country.
The new branch is located halfway between Newcastle and Maitland, about 22km north-north-west of Newcastle’s CBD.
Situated in the Elwell Industrial Precinct, near major roads like the New England Highway and close to the Pacific Motorway, TRUCK TECH founder and CEO Barry Saad says the branch provides excellent access to both labour, suppliers and transport links.
“Our Newcastle branch is a key pillar in our national expansion plan. We support several major freight operators across the Hunter, and this branch will give TRUCK TECH stronger reach into the region, enabling faster response times for clients in Newcastle, Maitland and surrounding suburbs,” Saad says.
“We are also looking to tap into the local skilled workforce, many of whom live in Beresfield and nearby suburbs like Thornton, Woodberry and Tarro.
“Most importantly we’re excited to be bringing our market leading approach to heavy vehicle maintenance to the Hunter. Our goal is to have the best mechanics and field service technicians providing proactive fleet maintenance solutions to our customers.
“This new workshop enables our techs and mechanics to do their best work, repair our customers’ fleets with minimal downtime and get them back on the road.”
Saad says the brand is expecting to hire up to 50 mechanics and technicians at the facility, which will help service vehicles from key customers across Northern NSW as it becomes the company’s fourth branch.
Headquartered in Chipping Norton, NSW, TRUCK TECH delivers proactive, data- driven, safety-led maintenance solutions for fleets of 50 or more heavy vehicles. The company has four state-of-the-art fleet maintenance and repair centres and over 70 mobile fleet service units. Its 140 staff service thousands of trucks, trailers and buses annually.
Heading up the workshop will be newly appointed branch manager Roger Buhagiar, who has worked as a leading hand for TRUCK TECH for two years.
“Having lived in the Hunter region for seven years, it’s a real privilege to lead TRUCK TECH’s Newcastle operations,” Buhagiar says.
“Beresfield is the perfect base — it’s right on the transport corridor, close to our customers and part of a community I know well.
“I’m excited to be building a strong team of dedicated, well-trained technicians, managing this new branch and workshop, and serving the needs of our customers’ fleets across Newcastle, Maitland and the Hunter.”
