Australian heavy vehicle fleet maintenance and repair company TRUCK TECH has been announced as the lead sponsor for Transport Women Australia Limited’s (TWAL) upcoming Driving the Dream conference.
As the association’s latest corporate member, TRUCK TECH will also be the lead sponsor for the event, to be held at Hyatt Place, Essendon Fields from April 16 to 18.
The partnership marks a boost for TWAL, a national not-for-profit that has spent more than two decades championing greater female participation across Australia’s transport and logistics sector. Through mentoring, scholarships, industry engagement and advocacy, the organisation continues to open pathways for women into a predominantly male industry.
TWAL chair Coralie Chapman says the support from TRUCK TECH would help accelerate the organisation’s mission at a pivotal time.
“Transport Women Australia exists to open doors and create real career pathways for women right across the logistics sector,” Chapman says.
“Having TRUCK TECH come on board not only as a member but as lead sponsor of Driving the Dream strengthens our ability to inspire, connect and support the next generation of women in transport.”
TRUCK TECH CEO Barry Saad says the company’s decision to partner with TWAL reflects a strong belief that a more diverse workforce is critical to the industry’s future.
“Australia’s transport and logistics industry faces skills shortages and rapid change, and diversity brings new perspectives, stronger problem-solving and ultimately better outcomes,” Saad says.
“We have a proud track of record of supporting many exceptional female technicians and team members across our business, but we also recognise that more needs to be done. By supporting TWAL, we’re investing in a more inclusive and sustainable industry. One that better reflects the diversity across modern Australia.”
The Driving the Dream, held April 16 to 18 at Hyatt Place in Melbourne, aims to provide an important platform to challenge perceptions and highlight the breadth of opportunities available across the sector.
