Truck Tech Group focuses on complete workshop servicing with latest evolution

In 17 years, Truck Tech Group has evolved into a comprehensive service and repair partner for heavy vehicle operators. With the introduction of onsite workshop management, Truck Tech customers can now remain solely focused on their primary business with the comfort of knowing their vehicles are in the hands of onsite skilled technicians

In the Australian transport industry, Barry Saad first started Truck Tech Group out of the back of his service ute, helping repair and maintain heavy vehicles.

Less than 20 years into Truck Tech’s journey, it now sits as a leading heavy vehicle repairer in the truck, trailer and bus markets.

Despite now being a force in the heavy vehicle repair and maintenance game, Saad is intent on continuing to grow Truck Tech’s presence along Australia’s eastern coast with a view to becoming nationwide.

“Truck Tech has increased its field service capabilities in all three eastern Australian states,” Saad told ATN.

“The introduction of onsite workshops placing Truck Tech technicians onsite for various clients has seen major benefits for those clients, including an increase in asset uptime, improved onsite WHS compliance and an increase in maintenance safety awareness.”

Truck Tech noticed that a range of companies in various sectors were calling for visits to their depots and sites to repair and maintain their fleets and, due to this increased demand for servicing on-site, Truck Tech wasted no time in capitalising on this opportunity. It offered a permanent solution by placing Truck Tech technicians onsite, thereby taking the burden off those companies where vehicle repairs were not their main business function.

In doing so, Truck Tech has been able to reduce headcount for customers, freeing time so they can focus on their main business operations and improve productivity, quality management and maximise the uptime of fleet assets.

This workshop management capability is giving Truck Tech a comprehensive offering to fleet operators. It’s no longer just a simple heavy vehicle repairer – it’s a flexible team of experienced staff who can adapt to each customer’s needs.

“Our services also improve asset conditions and reduce the need for operator in-house servicing teams,” Saad says.

“Our leading technicians undergo training to continually improve, meaning we can offer further services to our clients to ensure their focus remains heavily on their business while we take care of their fleet.”

To meet ongoing demands of the industry, Truck Tech has also increased its field service teams and operations in Victoria, NSW and Queensland to give operators the support they require. With a field service team also operating on the Central Coast and in Newcastle, the demand for mobile technicians will only see an increase in field services over the next six to 12 months.

By focusing on not just the vehicle, but also chain of responsibility (COR) performance and workshop workplace health and safety (WHS) compliance, Truck Tech has evolved from being just a simple vehicle repairer from Saad’s service ute to a comprehensive partner for transport operators around Australia.

“Fleet operators that have Truck Tech’s onsite workshops have found a significant improvement in their driver retention capabilities due to our safety and maintenance focus,” Saad says.

“Having maintenance requests actioned quickly doesn’t just improve the up-time of assets – it also increases the confidence of drivers and showcases to fleet operations our dedication to truck and trailer safety.”
