Truck parts and repairs consolidation continues

Bapcor and Royans find new targets to expand burgeoning portfolios

The truck services arms of Bapcor and Royans have continued on their respective expansion paths.

Listed Bapcor’s Commercial Vehicle Group (CVG) recently acquired Truck and Auto Parts in NSW.

The company’s Inverell and Moree branches will become stores 32 and 33 in the Truckline network.

Owned by Rick and Vicki Holder since 2005, Truck and Auto Parts grew from servicing the New England area into one of the largest truck and automotive spare parts operators in northern NSW, Bapcor CVG general manager Justin O’Brien noted on social media.

The Moree branch, which opened in 2014, solidified the firm’s position in the Inverell and Moree area and beyond.

“The acquisition of this exceptional business reinforces Truckline’s position as a leading supplier of commercial truck parts and is a big step towards growing the branch network to over 50 stores over the next two years, employing over 120 people.

“Ensuring the network grows within both metro and regional areas remains a key priority as
Truckline welcomes New England Truck and Auto Parts to its growing national footprint of 33 stores, with many more to come.”

Meanwhile, private equity-owned Royans Transport Accident Repairs has spent the past few months extending its New Zealand coverage with the acquisition of Wilcock Truck Painters in Christchurch, John Bates Wheel Alignment in Palmerston North, and Truck Smash Repairs in Auckland.

It had also extended its existing Auckland site in Wiri to include a new chassis straightening system, gantry crane and heavy vehicle lifters.

Back in Australia, Nymans Smash Repairs and Prestige Powder Coating in Tamworth, NSW, became Royans’ 18th local branch.

“Royans are now the only national multi-site repairer in New Zealand, with 4 branches across both the North and South Island,” the company noted.

“Complimenting this is our Australian branch network with a further 18 branches, who are specialists in commercial vehicle accident repairs, painting and servicing.”
