Truck drivers urged to plan for Bathurst 1000 delays

Heavy vehicle operators driving along the Great Western Highway are advised to plan ahead as the Supercars Bathurst 1000 begins today, until Sunday October 12.

In previous years there has been a significant increase in traffic on the Highway between Lithgow and Katoomba on the Monday following this event.

Due to this expected increase in traffic, drivers of heavy vehicle and oversize or overmass vehicles are advised to plan ahead and where possible, avoid eastbound travel on the Great Western Highway between Lithgow and Katoomba on Monday October 13, 8am and 1pm.

To receive an update to your phone as soon as the congestion clears, follow the incident using the Live Traffic NSW app.
