Toll opens oil and gas supply hub in Asia

Toll Group has opened a $300 million oil and gas supply base in Singapore

May 21, 2013

Logistics company Toll Group opened a $300 million oil and gas supply base in Singapore on Friday.

The base, dubbed the Toll Offshore Petroleum Services (TOPS) facility,
was opened in Loyang, following a five-year redevelopment.

TOPS will now be Toll’s leading supply base in the region for companies in the marine, offshore, and oil and gas industries.

Toll Group Managing Director Brian Kruger says the investment is part of Toll’s strategy to establish a presence in the Asia Pacific.

“Since acquiring the site in 2006 and then receiving the approval to develop it in 2008, we have transformed the site into a world-class supply base that increases the efficiency and capabilities of the marine, offshore and oil and gas industries,” Kruger says in a statement.

Kruger says
the facility’s
proximity to Changi Airport
allows it to interface between air, land and sea.

The 32-hectare site is 40 percent smaller than
Toll’s previous facility and
will operate 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week.

It has a berthing length of almost 1,000 metres and water depth up to 8.5 metres
to allow
the service of more than 11 vessels at once, including large vessels such as drill ships.

The facility also includes in-house documentation and customs clearance, warehousing capabilities, including a multi-story warehouse, centrally managed lay down areas, and designated areas for the safe storage of dangerous goods.

More than 130 companies are currently operating within the facility.
