Toll Group has officially moved into its largest facility in Australia according to global supply chain consultant TMX Transform, which aided the development of the property.
The site in question, a 68,000 sqm facility in the Western Sydney suburb of Kemps Creek, was announced to be under development in May 2023. It was developed by ESR Australia.
The $200 million investment into the site features $75 million of advanced automation technology and has been designed to support both e-commerce and retail store fulfilment for retailers.
The initial investment in the site was part of Toll’s broader strategy to grow its Australian business with a total of $400 million of new investments planned between 2023 and 2027.
“Congratulations to Toll Group on the completion of their largest facility in Australia – a 68,000 sqm powerhouse of automation, sustainability and opportunity,” TMX Transform says.
“With a $75 million investment into automation, the site is purpose-built to deliver greater efficiency and scalability for Toll’s customers.
“The Kemps Creek facility is a strategic investment in sustainability, achieving a 6 Star Green Star Design & As Built v1.3 rating that includes 600 kW of solar power and 15 electric vehicle charging bays.
“Once fully operational it will also create 200 new roles.
“TMX is proud to have supported this landmark development across property procurement, automation assurance and project management.
“Thank you to ESR Group, Richard Crookes Construction and all project partners who helped bring it to life.”
