TasPorts CEO to step down

Having serviced the port organisation for almost 10 years, the CEO will depart the business in the early months of 2026

TasPorts has announced its CEO Anthony Donald will step down from the role after handing in his resignation.

TasPorts chair Greg McCann announced the resignation which will see Donald conclude his tenure in March 2026.

McCann says the TasPorts board accepted the resignation and thanked Donald for his “significant contribution” to the organisation.

“Anthony has served TasPorts for almost 10 years, including leading the organisation since 2018, first as acting CEO and then, from 2019, as CEO,” McCann says.

“During that time, Anthony has led TasPorts through a period of significant change and investment, strengthening our focus on safety, sustainability and the delivery of critical port infrastructure across the state.”

McCann says Donald would remain in the role until March to ensure continuity as TasPorts progresses major projects and operational priorities across its port network.

“Anthony’s continued leadership during this transition period will provide stability for our workforce, customers and stakeholders and ensure TasPorts remains focused on delivering for Tasmania,” he says.

Donald says it had been a privilege to lead the organisation.

“Serving as CEO of TasPorts has been a deeply rewarding experience, and I am proud of what our people have achieved together,” Donald says.

“TasPorts plays a vital role in Tasmania’s economy, and I remain fully committed to supporting the board and the organisation through this important transition.”

The TasPorts board will now progress planning for the next phase of leadership, including interim arrangements and the process to appoint a new CEO.
