Fleet services company Sargent establishes new branch in Queensland after taking over Gladstone Bridgestone Tyre Centre

December 20, 2012

Fleet services company Sargent has established a new branch in north Queensland after taking over the Gladstone Bridgestone Tyre Centre.

The company says the branch will provide a range of services including vehicle rental, tyres, maintenance, windscreens, air-conditioning and inspection station services.

Sargent already has a presence in Gladstone and currently has 100 vehicles for hire from the region. It expects to increase the number of vehicles available for hire, including the introduction of new models such as the latest 14-seat Fuso truck bus.

“The establishment of a full branch and associated services will solidify our presence in the Bowen Basin and meet increased demand,” Sargent CEO Grant Chugg says.

“Gladstone is a well-established hub for large-scale resource processing, liquefied natural gas and associated industries and the establishment of this branch will help drive our growth in the future.”

Sargent in August this year completed its purchase of Dysart Engineering to expand its fleet offering in the Bowen Basin. This adds to its other locations in Mackay, Moranbah and Blackwater.

Sargent provides rental and maintenance of commercial vehicles. Its fleet of almost 3,800 vehicles includes trucks, buses, cars and specialised vehicles.
