Australian-based forwarding network the Project Professionals Group (PPG) will host newly appointed Taiwan
Ports Chairman Dr Ding-hsun Hsiao at its annual conference in Bangkok.
With operations beginning in March, the
Taiwan International Ports Corporation (TIPC) merges all of Taiwan’s international commercial ports including the ports of Keelung, Taichung, Kaohsiung and Hualien, as well as a number of auxiliary ports.
PPG General Manager Kevin Stephens says Taiwan is one of East Asia’s most important commercial and logistics centers and as a result was of significant interest to project forwarders.
“Conference attendees will be well placed to learn more about the growing over-dimensional transportation opportunities in mainland China and other East Asian markets,” Stephens says.
Dr Ding-hsun will make a joint presentation to delegates with Port Corpus Christi Executive Director John La Rue.
Other senior port authority executives attending the conference include the President and Chief Executive of the Port San Antonio, Bruce Miller, and Vice-President Business Development Jorge Canavati.
Presentations will also be made by Rickmers-Linie GmbH, Hansa Heavy Lift GmbH, Sea Concert (Thailand) and Leschaco (Thailand), along with major international media partners.
PPG’s fifth annual conference has attracted nearly 100 registrations. It
will be held July 25-27 at the Millennium Hilton.
