Mid-size transport firms resilient: GE Capital

The mid-market segment of the transport and storage industry seems to be showing more resistance to the tough times than the accepted wisdom assumes, a survey for GE Capital indicates.

Austrans sparks ANZPAA drug-driving concern

The near-doubling of drug-drivers in trucks caught during last month’s Operation Austrans has rung alarm bells at the Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency (ANZPAA).

Though this year’s figure of 140 is just a fraction of the 4,828 tested, it is more than double 2010’s figure of 61 and almost twice last year’s 73, while the numbers tested fell from last year’s 6,296.
