WARTA backs Buswell on rural rail

The Western Australian Road Transport Association (WARTA) has supported state Transport Minister Troy Buswell’s decision to accelerate a change of rural infrastructure focus from rail to road.

With competing claims on a limited state’s public purse, Buswell made the hard call to put cash to work on the roads “which are full 24/7, compared to the rail with is full probably three months of the year”, WARTA Chief Executive Ian King says.
