Sisu Axles eyes Australian entry

Finnish component-maker Sisu Axles is considering starting up an Australian operation, following its acquisition by Alabama firm Marmon Highway Technologies (MHT). Marmon, itself owned by Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway, bought Sisu from Finnish merchant bank Helmet Capital and minority shareholders just before Christmas for an undisclosed sum.

Scania unveils cruise control for terrrain

Scania is taking a new path in truck makers’ unending search for fuel savings with a GPS system for optimum running based on topography to be released in Europe early next year.

Scania Head of Trucks, Franchise and Factory Sales Henrik Henriksson revealed the development at a media event on Friday. “It’s like a cruise control but for terrain,” Henriksson tells ATN.
