Swisslog and the Austrian Heron Group have launched a joint venture to develop and manufacture state-of-the art transport robots.

According to Swisslog, this innovative technology will increase its competences in the fast-growing area of highly dynamic warehouse and distribution solutions.

“Transport robots complement our light goods technology portfolio in an ideal way,” says Swisslog Warehouse & Distribution Solutions division head Daniel Fink.

“The technology will allow us to offer innovative, complete systems for highly dynamic buffer warehouses and modern picking station integrations,” he says.

The transport robots, which can be deployed flexibly, have been successfully used in production as well as intralogistics environments.

The joint venture will develop and manufactures specific transport robots to be included in concurrent projects, particularly in high-throughput warehouses for cardboard boxes, totes and trays.

Swisslog’s 3.5 percent equity in the joint venture
provides it with 25.1 percent share ownership.
