The two transport companies and Primary Connect partners won big at the 10th annual Transport Safety Day
Transport operators SCT Logistics and ABC Transport have both won awards at Primary Connect’s Transport Safety Day.
At the 10th annual day, both companies were recognised with Carriers of the Year awards.
Held at Woolworths Group’s head office, more than 150 carrier partners were represented.
The two longstanding transport partners of Primary Connect were formally recognised for their outstanding safety, compliance and service.
SRT Logistics was named Large Carrier of the Year, while ABC Transport was awarded Small Carrier of the Year.
“Our Primary Connect Carrier of the Year Awards are a fantastic opportunity for us to recognise carriers that demonstrate the highest level of service and outstanding professionalism while reflecting our own values and commitment to safety,” Primary Connect+ director Chris Brooks says.
“We are thrilled to present the award to ABC Transport for the first time and to SRT for the fourth time since the inception of these awards, and the second year in a row.
“We’re grateful to have such high-quality partners supporting our supply chain.”
SRT Logistics, as the Large Carrier of the Year, has been working with Primary Connect for more than 15 years.
With 370 employees transporting roughly 375,000 pallets of goods each year, SRT Logistics CEO Robert Miller says he was humbled to win the award multiple times.
“It takes a lot of hard work and dedication from the team for both our leaders and the broader team at SRT,” Miller says.
“It’s their hard work and dedication every day that makes a difference to our business and the business of Woolworths.”
ABC Transport, as Small Carrier of the Year, was recently acquired by Centurion after starting in 1998 out of Alice Springs before becoming a Primary Connect partner in 2017.
ABC Transport became a partner due to Woolworths wanting to get fresher produce into the northern area of Australia with shorter lead times.
“We’re full of pride for the fact that we’ve done a good job and we’ve dealt with a very important and prestigious company to make the produce in Darwin fresher and better for the customers up there,” ABC Transport CEO Jamie Eccleston says.
“We’re proud to offer Primary Connect and Woolworths the security and comfort of our highly maintained and safe fleet. We look forward to our continued partnership.”
