The popular Sprinter van and cab-chassis range is now available in 4x4 configuration
In a move that strengthens the Mercedes-Benz light commercial line-up, the popular Sprinter van and cab-chassis range is now available in 4×4 configuration.
Using a system called 4ETS, or 4-wheel Electronic Traction System, the Sprinter models electronic control to direct torque to the wheels with the greatest amount of grip, and to reduce wheel slip to those with less traction.
The 4ETS system works in close cooperation with the Sprinter 4×4’s standard-fitment ADAPTIVE ESP system, which constantly monitors the vehicle’s driving status, to help correct a loss-of-control condition before it happens.
The revised Sprinter retains its choice of turbo-diesel engines, with either a 2.2-litre four cylinder or a 3-litre V6 available, offering 110kW/330Nm and 135kW/400Nm respectively.
