Melbourne’s Trailer Stonestar Pty Ltd is preparing for a big push into drop-decks, drop-deck wideners, water tankers, log trailers, side tippers and much more in 2019 to capitalise on the boom in infrastructure activity.

Stonestar says identifying and adapting to market trends has been critical to the company’s success since it was established 20 years ago, initially wholesaling tyres and wheels.

In that time the Dingley-based company has trebled in size; with the focus now firmly on trailer manufacture and supply of cranes and a wide array of large machinery.

“One of the keys to our success is the ability to adapt to market trends and plan in advance. For example, this year through research we found there was a strong demand for drop-deck trailers and as a result we have been able to accommodate and focus our efforts in this sector,” the company says.

“We have also started planning for next year. With a large push in infrastructure in 2019, especially roadworks, we will turn our focus to drop-deck wideners and water tankers to ensure we are always ahead of the trend and product demand. It’s all about planning ahead.”

In a market with long lead times, this forward planning enables Stonestar to offer an impressive three-week turnaround from the time of sale.

“Here at Stonestar we are among the most prominent organisations engaged in the field of supplying high-quality semi-trailers to our clients,” the company says.

“With our years of expertise in our respective field, we provide our trailers with assurance of durability and reliability. Behind it all is a mindset that is unique to the team at Stonestar, allowing us to constantly change and adapt.”

Demand for side tippers is forecast to increase off the back of the boom in infrastructure activity

Offering a wide range of quality product at “unbeatable” prices has also been crucial to the company’s growth.

Stonestar’s trailers are designed by in-house engineers and finished and “complianced” here in Melbourne using components sourced both locally and internationally.

The company sells more than 20 types of trailers, ranging from tri-axle and quad-axle wideners, extendable, low loaders, drop-decks, side tippers and tilt sliders, to stainless steel water tankers, vacuum tankers, log trailers, container trailers, fuel tankers, cement mixers and 25-tonne truck cranes.

“Stonestar’s trailers are built to the highest standards. We proudly ensure our products feature the latest in engineering technology,” the company says.

Backing that up is a strong focus on customer service, they point out.

“Customer service is our first priority. We treat our customers with the utmost care, acting of the best intentions to serve them.

“Our main aim is to be able to keep consistently meeting customers’ standards when looking for a trailer and continuing to grow our name for many years to come,” the company says.
