Six new Scanias for Mondiale VGL’s Sydney operations

The acquisition of the new trucks continues a long-term partnership between Mondiale VGL and the manufacturer
Mondiale VGL has continued its preference for Scania.

Mondiale VGL has bolstered its Sydney fleet with the addition of six new Scania 460 P SUPER prime movers.

The new vehicles will be put to work in the outer metro areas of Sydney to as far as Bathurst over 200 kilometres from the city’s CBD and will transport heavy stone and tile filled containers.

Mondiale VGL announced it would transition its fleet fully to Scania back in 2023, with the move completed early last year.

The six new 460 P SUPER units will replace older trucks in the company’s existing fleet and are part of its ongoing fleet renewal program.

Scania New Truck Account Manager Mark ten Broeke says the manufacturer has worked hard to provide the perfect truck suited to Mondiale VGL’s needs.

“We have been successful in providing Mondiale VGL with the perfect specification for their needs following careful analysis of the work these trucks will do in combination with the quad-axle trailers,” ten Broeke says.

“We have matched the power and torque of the frugal SUPER engines to the workload the trucks undertake, able to cope with up to 60-tonnes in some configurations.

“We look forward to continuing to provide customers such as Mondiale VGL with services far beyond the simple provision of a vehicle and be true partners with them in improving their commercial success in a competitive business environment.”

Mondiale VFL Fleet and Compliance Manager ANZ Rory Gerhardt says the new Scanias are “fit for purpose” for both the task at hand, and for the company’s wider ESG reporting.

“Our business growth is accelerating, setting new records in terms of efficient container movements, and that is assisted by these Scanias,” Gerhardt says.

“The Scania prime movers bring operations efficiency as well as added safety, and of course excellent fuel economy.

“Aside from the fuel efficiency benefits, the high level of vehicle data monitoring from the telematic service that Scania provides is the best in the business, and it gives us real time access to how the fleet is performing, which meets our requirements for Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting.

“Scanias are fit-for-purpose. Scania offers a good product, good aftersales, good support.”
