September 9, 2011

Shell has released its improved fuel offering on to the Australian market.

The energy company has undertaken the first of a staged introduction of Shell Diesel Extra.

The fuel will be available to approved customers at five Shell terminals including: Newport in Victoria, Parramatta in NSW, Pinkenba and Townsville in Queensland and Kalgoorie in WA, as well as 66 Shell branded service stations, including Coles Express sites, dealer owned sites and Shell unmanned truckstops in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

“Shell Diesel Extra should help the transport sector improve fuel efficiency and reduce their maintenance costs,” Shell Australia Senior Fuels and Lubricants Technical Advisor Mick Pattinson says.

The company says fuel saving of up to 3 percent had been achieved during Shell testing with heavy-duty engines using European Shell Diesel Extra with its new additive compared with European Industry Standard diesel (EN590) with no additive.
