New energised protection oils will help fleet managers lower carbon emissions, Shell says

Fleet managers and transport operators have a new ally in the fight to lower their carbon emissions, according to Shell Rimula.
Its energised protection oils range includes the ‘next-generation’ oils Rimula R4 L and R6 LM, which are low emissions oils, designed to decrease vehicle emissions through the reduced amount of ash and SAPS (Sulphated Ash, Phosphorus and Sulphur) contained in the products.
Low-SAPS oils also help to protect next-generation engines by keeping the latest emissions control systems working efficiently, supporting vehicle compliance with emissions standards.
In addition to decreasing emissions, Shell Rimula’s R4 L and R6 LM are longer drain oils, which can assist in improving environmental credentials by increasing up time.
The extended service intervals also reduce the amount of waste oil that is generated, which in turn means there is less oil to be disposed of through recycling, creating additional savings for the operator.
