Senior management shakeup at Qube

Stalwart Smithwick’s departure sees moves for Digney brothers

Qube has announced changes to its senior management team and company secretary effective from July 1.  

After more than 50 years in the industry and 10 years with Qube, Don Smithwick will retire from his current position as director of the Ports & Bulk division.

Smithwick will continue as an adviser to the group on a part-time basis and a non-executive director of AAT, Prixcar and NSS. The position of director of Ports & Bulk will not be filled.

Paul Digney, who will take up the new role of chief operating officer, has been with Qube since 2007 as director logistics. He will be responsible for identifying opportunities to drive growth and efficiencies across all of Qube’s operations.

John Digney, who will take up the role of director logistics. John has been with Qube since 2007 as director operations – Logistics.

William Hara will take up the new role of director strategic assets which currently include Moorebank, Quattro, Tonen/Qube joint venture and the property at Minto.

Hara has been with Qube for three years and was previously a senior executive at Lend Lease for six years and Patrick for 10 years. He will also keep his existing responsibilities of general counsel and company secretary.

Paul Lewis will resign as an additional company secretary and be replaced by Adam Jacobs as an additional company secretary.
