SCT launches event to celebrate Wimmera service

SCT will celebrate a decade spent providing freight rail services through Victoria’s Wimmera region on June 13

Celebrating a decade of serving the Wimmera region with its train, the leading freight transport service, Specialised Container Transport (SCT) is holding an event to celebrate.  

Freight transport operator Specialised Container Transport (SCT) has announced an event to celebrate a decade spent serving the Wimmera region with its freight train services. 

In conjunction with Horsham Rural City Council (HRCC), SCT is hosting an industry anniversary event at the Horsham Town Hall on Thursday, 13 June 13, 2024.  

The event titled the ‘Wimmera Regional Port Logistics Industry Event 2024 will provide attendees with an exclusive tour of the Wimmera Intermodal Freight Terminal and showcase SCT’s involvement in the logistics industry in the region.  

It will also provide an opportunity for networking with representatives from across the industry and will feature guest speakers from several sectors in the logistics field such as:  

  • Matt Eryurek, general manager of ports and government relations at SCT Group  
  • Leatrice Treharne, head of business development at the Port of Melbourne  
  • David Jochinke, president of the Nnational Ffarmers’ Ffederation, and  
  • And Fiona Gormann, manager of investment attraction and& growth at Horsham Rural City Council  

Since 2013, SCT has operated services to the Port of Melbourne, supporting exporters in the Wimmera region.  

In honour of SCT’s commitment to the Wimmera region, this event is being held to recognise SCT’s for its ongoing efforts to support and develop the local logistics industry.
