Scotts IT solution for risk, safety management

New South Wales operator Scott Corporation (SC) will implement risk management and safety software into its day to day operations

New South Wales operator Scott Corporation (SC) will implement risk management and safety software into its day to day operations by the beginning of next year.

The move is an attempt to centralise and automate the company’s incident reporting and occupational health and safety reporting to assist us in reducing risks and managing incidents.

According to SC Information Systems Manager Ross Pavey the new software will be a big step in safety improvement for its entire Australian fleet.

“We expect this to increase safety visibility and accountability, and to improve our opportunities for preventative action,” Pavey says.

“Built-in workflows will support Scott Corporation staff and management from initial incident notification through to remedial action, escalation if required and resolution.

“The software will track all activity to ensure responsibilities are met.”

Apart from managing safety and workflows, the new software which is being provided by business software provider ComOps will also be used to monitor and manage staff, contractor and equipment certificate records.

The software includes management dashboards which will aim to provide fast access to key performance indicator data as well as web enabled reporting for remote and branch access.
