January will see Levin take up the head of sales and marketing role as Scania head office undergo a range of executive changes
Scania has appointed Christian Levin to head of sales and marketing from January, 2016, filling the position made vacant by new president and CEO Henrik Henriksson.
The truck maker says Levin has held a number of management positions since 1996, including managing director of Scania’s operations in Switzerland and Italy, and the company’s executive vice president of commercial operations.
From 2016, he will be responsible for the sales of Scania trucks and buses, and industrial and marine parts.
“I am looking forward to the task,” Levin says.
“Our strategy is to deliver solutions – products and services – that drive profitability for our customers and for Scania.
“Our success is based on a professional sales and service organisation that supplies the right vehicles and the right services for each customer’s unique needs in various segments and applications.”
Part of this will involve alternative fuels and connected vehicles, Levin says, as they “are important parts of our strategy to become leader in sustainable transport.”
Henriksson and Levin will assume their new roles on January 1.
Levin is familiar with the Australian market haveing visited the country in 2013.
