Transport worker reimbursed $21,600 after complaining of being paid incorrect annual leave entitlements

An underpaid transport worker at Whyalla in South Australia has been reimbursed $21,600 after complaining of being paid incorrect annual leave entitlements.
The driver complained to the Fair Work Ombudsman, which contacted his employer asking it to rectify the underpayments.
The company voluntarily agreed to back-pay the worker. The Ombudsman declined to release details of the matter, saying it only names businesses in the event of legal action.
“Our preference is always to work with employers to educate them and help them voluntary rectify any non-compliance issues,” Fair Work Ombudsman Executive Director Michael Campbell says.
He says employers need to regularly review their Award or agreement to ensure they are fully aware of their obligations to workers.
