Latest acquisition follows recent purchase of Nathans in Sydney
Heavy vehicle repairer Royan Group has added its first ACT, and 15th overall, branch with the acquisition of O’Brien Smash Repairs Canberra.
O’Brien is a family business operating for more than 50 years and specialises in the repair, salvage and towing of heavy vehicles, with a 2,000 sq m workshop including what it claims is Canberra’s only truck- and bus-sized spray painting booth.
Directors Chris and Tim O’Brien will continue to manage the business.
“We are very happy for the opportunity to join Royan’s, who we regard as the leaders in transport accident repairs, and we expect this will allow us to further improve our service to customers and provide ongoing stability and opportunities for our staff,” Chris O’Brien says.
“We have a good team here and we look forward to being part of the larger team at Royans.”
It comes after the acquisition of Royan’s 14th branch around the new year: Nathans Truck and Trailer Smash Repairs in Sydney.
Nathans is also a family-run business established for over 60 years, with a 2.5-acre facility at Windsor in northwest Sydney.
Its facilities include four chassis straighteners, an overhead gantry crane, three extra-large spray booths and extensive specialised equipment and truck wash bays.
Nathans became Royan’s third Sydney facility.
Similarly, director Grant Nathan continues to manage the business.
“Nathans are excited about partnering with Royan’s scale of skills, experience and network to help get our customers back on the road fast.” Nathan says.
