RollCall brings hygiene IT to transport task

New business RollCall Services aims for transparency in cleaning

A transport industry IT solution to the coronavirus pandemic’s hygiene challenge has been launched.

Melbourne-based software company RollCall Safety Solutions unveils RollCall Services this week with the aim of helping reduce the risk of a Covid-19 out-break to transport and bus companies.

And if one should occur on the premises or in a vehicle, RollCall Services will seek to minimise interruption to the company operations, work cover claims and downtime duration.

Transport and logistics industry identities Dean Langenberg, Andrew Thornberry and Peter Ferrari operate RollCall Safety Solutions has been servicing the education sector with a school bus management system and has now evolved to deliver to the transport logistics and bus industry this new product.

“With the Covid-19 stage 3 lockdown coming to an end, we all look forward to a return to a new normal and to getting our businesses moving,” Langenberg tells ATN.

“The last thing we need is a Covid-19 cluster to break out in the workplace.

“One of the key messages coming from the authorities is clean, clean, clean. And critically record where, when and who performed the cleaning.”

Such a scenario is already playing out with national coverage at Melbourne firm Cedar Meats.

“With well-publicised recent clusters that have closed down complete businesses, preventing this scenario in your business is at the forefront of managers’ and owners’ minds,” Langenberg says.

“Closing a transport or bus operation for even a short period of time will be expensive and disruptive to your client’s operations.”

The innovation offers to help firms manage, schedule and confirm their premises and vehicles have been cleaned while providing a digital audible record.

As Langenberg explains it, the service works through the following functions:

  • companies provide their cleaners with a RollCall scanning device, used exclusively at their workplaces
  • cleaners log-in to the scanning device to view their cleaning schedule. This can be updated daily if needed
  • cleaners scan on and off when they start the clean and when they finish and move on to the next area or vehicle.

“It’s a quick to set up – RollCall will have the equipment couriered to you,” Langenberg says.

“All you need to do is place the small sensor at each location or in each vehicle you want verified that it has been cleaned, and then schedule when to clean this location in RollCall.

“When the cleaner scans in and out, you receive a real time record in the system.”
